NORDICA INCREASES ATHLETE ROSTER; SIGNS YOUNG TALENT TUCKER PERKINS

West Lebanon, N.H., (July 22, 2008) - Nordica USA has signed an agreement with promising young rider, Tucker Perkins. Perkins has signed an exclusive agreement to use Nordica skis, boots, and bindings through 2010.

Perkins, 17, had a very successful winter season and ended it by nailing a first place finish at the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Championships in Whistler BC in the Super Pipe coupled with a first place finish in the Super Hit competition.

Nordica offers Perkins a program that combines high quality products, excellent service, and the opportunity for exposure, all of which are important to his rapidly developing career. Perkins tested Nordica equipment on snow last week in Whistler BC before finalizing his decision to join Nordica's team of athletes.

"Nordica skis and boots performed extremely well in big air and pipe this past week in Whistler. I am super stoked on the feel and performance of the new freeride boot, skis and bindings," said Perkins.

"Tucker has a work ethic and training program that make him extremely competitive. We are very motivated to have the best team of athletes, investing in young talent is key to our growing freeride program," Matt Knittle, Nordica Promotions and Competition Manager.

With the addition of Perkins, Nordica adds to its increasing presence as a leader of skis and boots in Freeride and Park and Pipe segments. Perkins will join the likes of Peter Olenick, Stefan Thomas, Rory Bushfield, and Shane McConkey as a Nordica Freeride athlete.

PETER OLENICK SIGNS WITH NORDICA

1/25/08 - Nordica USA announces the signing of freeskier athlete Peter Olenick to the Nordica Supercharger Team. Olenick, a native of Carbondale Colorado, has been working closely with Nordica since early fall and has just recently confirmed a working agreement with the company. “Peter is one of the industry’s best,” comments Matt Knittle, Nordica USA Promotions Manager. “We are thrilled to add one of the leading park and pipe athletes to our exclusive team. Peter has been great to work with and has given us terrific feedback on our Supercharger skis and boots,” added Knittle. "I'm in a point of my career where I need skis and ski boots that perform as well as I do,” said Olenick. “I tested a lot of skis and boots and the Nordica's just ripped the most, they are sick," he continued.

Olenick is a two-time Winter X Games Superpipe medalist—bronze in 2007 and 2004 and had a second place finish at the Breckenridge stop of the Ski Tour last season, where he narrowly lost to Tanner Hall. Olenick has been featured in numerous films including this season’s PoorBoyz Production “Yeah Dude.”

Olenick joins Stefan Thomas, Rory Bushfield, JT Holmes and Shane McConkey (on boots) on the growing Nordica Supercharger Team. Stefan Thomas competed against Olenick last season in Superpipe events including the Winter X Games Superpipe competition where he finished 8th. Rory, Shane and JT are icons in the freeride/big mountain community and continue to push the limits of skiing, they are Matchstick Production athletes and were featured in this season’s new movie “Seven Sunny Days.” “We feel like we have a very well rounded and talented team,” stated Knittle, “We are thrilled with our small but elite team, everyone on the team is an industry leader, amazing athlete and positive person. Shane McConkey Back on Nordica Boots

Nordica USA announces the signing of skiing icon Shane McConkey to the Nordica Supercharger Team. Living in Squaw Valley California, McConkey, has been a leader in the ski industry for years. Previously on the Nordica team, McConkey left only to return at the beginning of this year. “We are thrilled to have Shane back on our boots, stated Matt Knittle, Nordica USA Promotions Manager. “He is one of the most progressive and recognizable skiers in the world, he is a true skiing legend and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with him again” added Knittle. "Shane contacted us requesting to try some boots, so I sent him two pairs to test," explained Andy Hare, Nordica's Boot Product Director. "I received a great email back from Shane saying "Those boots fit me like slippers. No work required and they ski so damn well I can't believe I ever switched off of Nordica". McConkey has been in countless ski films dating back to 1995 and has won numerous competitions and awards, most recently Shane is known for being a pioneer of combining base jumping with skiing in which he skis off mountain cliffs such as the Eiger in Swiss Alps. McConkey joins JT Holmes, Rory Bushfield, Peter Olenick and Stefan Thomas on the growing Nordica Supercharger Team. JT is also known for his ski base jumping accomplishments and has partnered with Shane in many skiing/jumping descents.
