SHANE McCONKEY
When Shane contacted us we were thrill to sign him back up. Shane re-joined the Nordica team at the beginning of 2008.
"Shane contacted us requesting to try some boots, so I sent him two pairs to test," explained Andy Hare, Nordica's Boot Product Director. "I received a great email back from Shane saying "Those boots fit me like slippers. No work required and they ski so damn well I can't believe I ever switched off of Nordica".
McConkey has been in countless ski films dating back to 1995 and has won numerous competitions and awards, most recently Shane is known for being a pioneer of combining base jumping with skiing in which he skis off mountain cliffs such as the Eiger in Swiss Alps.

Trip this past season: Actually it was skiing at home at Squaw. The previous year I got pretty hosed on powder skiing and only got 3 total powder days in the whole year. Last season we had a great February in Tahoe so skiing powder again was desperatley needed. However, if I had to choose an actual trip I always love going to Portillo Chile in the summer. That place is a great experience, but I finally go to go check out Retallack BC last winter and skied some really great powder cat skiing with the Oakley crew.
Company to film with: Matchstick
Mountain on a powder day: Anywhere theres a helicopter and someone else is paying for it. Other than that I moved to Squaw for a damn good reason.
Way to spend a day not skiing: With my daughter at the beach

I use off the hill: at bars and various places when I want to leave is called "The Ghost." Rather than having to make the rounds saying goodbye or have to catch hell from your friends for leaving, you simply leave when nobody is looking
