Nordica is 2 for 2 at US Nationals
With Athletes Marco Sullivan and David Chodounsky winning the DH and SL titles
ALASKA - March 30, 2009 Nordica is off to a commanding start at the 2009 US National Championships in Alaska. After a long week of delays due to snow fog and a volcano, Marco Sullivan won his third DH title by a third of a second this past Saturday. "He skied really well, was aggressive off the the top and he has fast skis," said head coach Sasha Rearick. He also said there was one turn on the track, a sidehill turn, which Sullivan nailed, making the difference in the race. read more
SHANE MCCONKEY 1969-2009
Decorated big mountain skier and BASE jumper Shane McConkey was killed in a ski-BASE accident in the Italian Dolomites. Read JT Holmes account of the accident.
Shane McConkey is survived by his wife, Sherry, 3 1/2 year-old daughter Ayla, and his parents Jim and Glenn. He will be greatly missed and a void has been felt throughout the skiing world.

RORY BUSHFIELD IS BACK
Having suffered three consecutive knee injuries over the past two years, Rory Bushfield concentrated on recovery and rehab much longer than he ever anticapated. Being nominated in 2007 for skier of the year by Powder Magazine, The Rory Bushfield train was running full steam until an unfortunate ski accident cut Rory's season off early and ended all momentum. Since then it's been a long road to recovery involving two more knee injuries.
Rory, determined to make it back stronger than ever for the 2008-09 season spent last winter and summer months concentrating on rehab and stregth. "This season has been killer. I've been making up for some serious lost time. I don't think I've missed a day yet this year, I'm stoked to back and doing what I love to do."

WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT!
This past week the Nordica Headquarters in Lebanon New Hampshire was visted by Dee Snider the frontman of 80's rock band Twisted Sister.
Snider drove in with his wife and daughters to get fitted for a total Nordica package. Dialing in some boots, skis, and an all black jacket and pants, Snider was ready to hit the mountains. After taking his picture with some lucky Nordica employees, Snider packed his family into his all black Hummer shook some hands and peeled out of the parking lot blasting "We're not Gonna Take it!".
ANAIS CARADEUX WINS ASPEN/SNOWMASS SUPERPIPE FINALS
Nordica's Anais Caradeux from France won the Aspen Snowmass Women's Superpipe Finals competition last Friday. This is Anais's 5th year on Nordica. Anais represents a strong field of both men and women who are making moves up the competition ladder skiing on Nordica.

OLENICK AND PERKINS DROP IN ON NORDICA'S ITALIAN HEADQUARTERS
After dropping by Europe's equivilant of the X-games, Fresstyle.ch in Zurich last weekend a part of our Nordica International Freeride Team came in Italy to visit the new HQ. 
US riders Peter Olenick and Tucker Perkins visited the production, research and design, logistic dept and wharehouses in the new Nordica facilities near Treviso Italy.
Many countries were represented by athletes such as Dmitrii "Dima" Sartor, Marco Eydallin, Peter Olenick, Tucker Perkins, Rok Dokl and Davide Cusini. Athletes visited the Norica design teams and help develop the looks and functinality of the latest Nordica product.

SHANE McCONKEY EXPLAINS WHY HE ASKED TO COME BACK TO NORDICA BOOTS
West Lebanon, N.H., (September 10, 2008) After years of being on other boot manufactures, Shane McConkey switched back to Nordica boots at the end of last year when his contract ran out. Nordica typically does not sign boot only athletes, but in Shane's case they made an exception. "Shane called me out of the blue and said he's tested every boot out there and there was no comparison," explained Andy Hare, Nordica's Senior Product Manager. "It was actually quite flattering and a great testament to our boots to have Shane call and request them." Check out why Shane switched back to Nordica after years of using other boots.
NORDICA INCREASES ATHLETE ROSTER; SIGNS YOUNG TALENT TUCKER PERKINS
West Lebanon, N.H., (July 22, 2008) - Nordica USA has signed an agreement with promising young rider, Tucker Perkins. Perkins has signed an exclusive agreement to use Nordica skis, boots, and bindings through 2010.
Perkins, 17, had a very successful winter season and ended it by nailing a first place finish at the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Championships in Whistler BC in the Super Pipe coupled with a first place finish in the Super Hit competition.
Nordica offers Perkins a program that combines high quality products, excellent service, and the opportunity for exposure, all of which are important to his rapidly developing career. Perkins tested Nordica equipment on snow last week in Whistler BC before finalizing his decision to join Nordica's team of athletes.
"Nordica skis and boots performed extremely well in big air and pipe this past week in Whistler. I am super stoked on the feel and performance of the new freeride boot, skis and bindings," said Perkins.
"Tucker has a work ethic and training program that make him extremely competitive. We are very motivated to have the best team of athletes, investing in young talent is key to our growing freeride program," Matt Knittle, Nordica Promotions and Competition Manager.
With the addition of Perkins, Nordica adds to its increasing presence as a leader of skis and boots in Freeride and Park and Pipe segments. Perkins will join the likes of Peter Olenick, Stefan Thomas, Rory Bushfield, and Shane McConkey as a Nordica Freeride athlete.

In an effort to increase high - quality testing we have changed our MT Hood operation. We will not be at our 2007 location. We will be working directly with you, coaches and racers! Our new home for summer testing is just that, our home inside the Collins Lake Resort. The Collins Lake Resort is located just a few steps away from the Ratskeller Building in downtown Government Camp. Our goal is to close the gap between demo and test. There is a big difference between a consumer demo and race ski testing. By eliminating the "demo / store" and working out of a garage just like we do at all US Ski Team Camps and World Cup races we will be giving you better race service.
